At RedFowler Tollers, our breeding philosophy is grounded in one core belief: that every Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever should be raised with the goal of being a well-rounded, sound, and versatile dog; and above all, a cherished family member.

We are passionate about preserving the integrity of the Toller breed by producing dogs that excel in temperament, health, structure, and purpose. Whether destined for hunting homes, sport, or companionship, each puppy starts life with the same foundation: one built on love, intention, and experience.

Our puppies are born and raised in our home.  From their very first days, they are surrounded by the sights, sounds, and rhythms of daily family life. This ensures they grow up confident, curious, and well-socialized.

We believe in purposeful exposure by introducing puppies to a variety of new experiences during critical development stages. This includes:

• Early neurological stimulation (ENS)
• Exposure to household noises, children, other dogs, and guests
• Safe exploration of different surfaces, toys, and environments
• Introduction to water, bird wings, and basic retrieving
• Age-appropriate challenges that build confidence and problem-solving

This approach creates resilient, balanced puppies who are better prepared for life in active homes.

• Temperament: A sound, biddable, and loving temperament is non-negotiable. Our dogs are chosen for their friendliness, biddability, and joyful nature.
• Health: We follow all recommended health testing through OFA and CKC to ensure we are making responsible, informed breeding decisions.
• Structure and Type: We aim to produce dogs that meet the breed standard in both form and function.
• Life-Ready Dogs: Our Tollers are exposed to real-life situations. From the duck blind to the confirmation ring to the family living room — our dogs can do it all.
